Don’t worry, be happy
You may not have noticed it but March 20 was World Happiness Day according to the United Nations.
They’ve even done a report to work out which countries are the happiest. And the winners are in descending order: Switzerland, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Canada, Finland, Netherlands. Sweden, New Zealand and Australia
The only similarity between these countries, apart our little island, is that they are all extremely cold in winter and make a vey nice bar of chocolate. More likely their economies aren’t in bad shape either compared with the rest of the world – though Iceland is coming from an extremely low base. A liitle bit of money always helps you enjoy life a little more.
If we have a look at the most miserable countries on the planet that also it reinforces how important a robust economy is to one’s wellbeing, particularly when it comes to price inflation eating into that aforementioned money.
The top five miserable countries according to a Bloomberg’s 2015 survey are Venezuela, Argentina, South Africa, Ukraine and Greece. Of course the Ukraine has its own set of problem courtesy of Russia’s President Putin, while Greece, Spain (6) Portugal (10) and Italy (11) might take some comfort in Bloomberg’s prediction that personal income in those countries is on the rise. Where the money is going to come from for the debt-riddled Greeks is a puzzle.
